Notes from the Teaching:
THE REAL ISSUE! The above issues that I just read are just surface issues. The real heart issues are the questions of what is biblically right what is wrong, and what is good and evil. ‘Satan deceives the whole world”. “Satan deceived Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. He said by eating the forbidden fruit and defying God’s instructions they would become like God and be able to determine right and wrong for themselves.” This argument to them sounded good and right but it was deadly. Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.
God determines what is right and what is wrong. We decide by our free will to obey or reject what God says in His Word or what He has revealed.
So what are the solutions to the problems?
1. We need to teach and speak biblical principles about morality and virtue with biblical truths and how we can to keep our biblical republic. Parents need to teach and read the Bible and the Ten Commandments to their children.
2. Christians should vote for godly leaders. Believers have a righteous responsibility to take part in the political arena. In 2020 in a study, 40 million Christians failed to vote.15 million Christians were not registered to vote in 2020. On September 17, 2023, there will be a program for churches called National Voter Registration Sunday. Website is https://www.voterregistrationsunday.org. You can get a step-by-step guide with a toolkit that you need to host a Voter Registration Drive.
3. The body of Christ has a moral obligation to vote for biblical leaders and research each candidate and see how they have voted before in an Election or how they have lived their lives according to biblical standards.
4. Study (The Black /Robed Patriots) and read about their sermons and their lives. The American Patriot Pastors greatly influenced the *Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, The Articles of Confederation, The Northwest Ordinance, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
5. The Christian believers of today need to teach and equip people to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might, and having done all, to stand. There is no separation of church and state biblically. Because, The Bible is the government For the people, OF the people, By the people, and FOR the people.
6. “As Government is the pillar of the earth, so Religion is the Pillar of Government. Take away the Fear of God’s Judgment, and humane Rule utterly falls, or corrupts into tyranny. But if religion rules in the Hearts and lives of rulers, God will have glory, and the people will be made happy. “Pastor Benjamin Colman. If rulers forget the fear and awe of God they will become tyrants and the people will mourn.
7. B.F Morris a historian said,” The ministers of the Revolution were like their Puritan predecessors, bold and fearless in the cause of their country. No class of men contributed more to carry forward the Revolution and to achieve our independence than did the ministers.”
8. We need men and women who are not afraid of teaching the truth and liberties of the Bible. God needs men and women of iron and valor ready to take a stand and to keep standing.
9. A quote about these ministers from the 1800s says, “Mighty men they were, of iron nerve and strong hand and unblanched cheek and heart of flame. “God needed not reeds shaken by the wind, nor was men clothed in soft raiment, but heroes of hardihood and lofty courage and such were the sons of the Mighty who responded to the Divine call.” Charles Galloway.
10. Ministers and believers need to bring back biblical topics that include politics. They should not shy away from any topic that is happening in the world. Preach and teach on what the scripture says about what is happening in the world. Hold the position of what the Bible says.
11. The people have the freedom that these patriots made available to us that we enjoy today, by using their pulpits and preaching and raising their voices to talk about biblical politics and the surface issues of today.
12. Preach and teach about Morality in the Bible and, the type of leaders that we should have in America. Paul writes in 2 Tim 3:16-17, (16) “All scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (17) That the man of God may be complete and throughly equipped for every good work.”
Then if we are throughly equipped for every good work then biblical politics is considered a good work for every believer. Scriptures are given for every good work. The Body of CHRIST could help to equip its members with all the scriptures to make a biblical impact on politics. We cannot be silent believers of the Word. We need Christians who are willing to confront corrupt politicians and not sacrifice the truth. God needs men and women to be filled with hearts of courage to stand for the truth. Some believers have been convinced it is not right to talk about politics in the church.
I read a book by Eric Metaxas called, Letter to the American Church. He tells of an account of Germany’s churches right before World War 2 broke out. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a godly minister said that there were 18,000 churches in Germany at this time. 3,000 churches including the pope and his church went with Hitler. Only 3,000 churches opposed Hitler because they saw his evil dictatorship, and they demanded that all the churches that were against Hitler should unite and stand in defense of the Jews. There were 12,000 churches that were silent about Hitler and refused to join with the 3,000 that were against Hitler. They did not forewarn their people about Hitler and did not respond to his horrible events. They decided to be neutral and just preach the gospel and evangelism to not unite against Hitler with the opposing other 3,000 churches. The 12,000 churches that were not opposing Hitler were because legalism and ritualism had taken control over their churches. The Nazis loved Legalism, Ritualism, and Control. So it was very easy for the Nazis to take over the 12,000 churches and their children. They paid the price for their silence against evil.
Edmund Burke once said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”
I believe that we can learn today from our verse Colossians 2:8.
“Beware lest any man spoils you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, (after the rudiments) the spiritual elements of the world, and not after Christ.”
The 12,000 silent churches in Germany should have heeded this verse of Colossians 2:8. Because then they would have clearly seen the vain deceit and evilness that came from the Nazis and Hitler and that they were definitely not following after Christ.
My prayer is that we the Body of Christ are encouraged to remember and learn from our past founding fathers, patriot preachers, and many other faithful believers, and how the scriptures of the Bible helped them obtain the freedoms and liberties we have today. This same Word can help us become better biblical citizens and we can imitate the great examples of these godly men and women of iron. We can see how we can help make an impact on biblical politics in our cities and towns and then secure our unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
